Artist Spotlight — Scott Bateman
UK based artist Scott Bateman graduated from Lancaster University with BA Honours in Illustration nearly two decades ago. He has taken his education, talent, and passion and infused it into his works in both the traditional and digital realms.
He’s been exhibited throughout the UK mainly with oil paintings on canvas. He has a tendency to use bright vibrant colors, eliciting joy.

Scott Joins NFTs
In 2021 Scott got wind of the NFT scene and for an accomplished artist it was a natural progression to begin minting artworks on chain. Here Scott found a wonderful way to let his creativity run wild, and has made a name for himself with his Sci-Fi themed animations where he puts together shorts 20–50 seconds complete with musical scores, and full animations that move in a seamless loop to keep the viewer captivated.
His works can be found in prestigious collections such as the Medici Emerging Collection where you can view Between Three Moons.
Hope for a Better Future
As a husband and father Scott can’t help but think about what the future holds. Sometimes he will deviate from pieces that spark joy and happiness, to ones that push us to think a little bit harder. One such piece is Last Breath, which you can see is a very similar color pallet to Sunset Stroll, but in contrast all the colors are muted, and the hope is contained in a small bubble.

Last Breath is a stark reminder of what kind of future we have to look forward to if we continue to do nothing. Pollution, climate change, global warming, are all daunting issues that if left unattended will leave a barren wasteland. Scott took the message one step further with his work for the Wolf Society Foundations GAIA WEEPS.
GAIA WEEPS
GAIA WEEPS a stunning juxtaposition of creation and destruction as Gaia herself holds Earth in her hands as it goes up in flames. The essence of her own life force is being consumed as her roots burn, and the tears turn to lava as they stream down her face.
But wait, are those flowers burning? Or are they emerging from the destruction to replenish the destruction? We are in the balance, and our actions today will determine the final outcome.
